The Flat

The Flat

My grandparents lived in a Bauhaus flat in Tel Aviv since immigrating in the 1930s. Though the view was of Tel Aviv, inside felt like Berlin. After my grandmother passed at 98, clearing the flat uncovered objects, letters, and secrets revealing a hidden, troubled past.

What began as sorting belongings turns into a gripping journey of unexpected national ties, a friendship across enemy lines, and deeply buried history.

An award-winning film by Arnon Goldfinger, widely regarded as one of the greatest documentaries ever made.
